Fourth of July is just days away and that means it’s almost time for the Terrell Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Freedom Fest celebration and free fireworks show, sponsored by the Platinum Collection of Dealerships.

Terrell was once again a fuel stop for the Run for the Wall event that is an annual motorcycle ride designed to promote healing among all Veterans and their family and friends.

The missing body of a kayaker was recovered from the Trinity River in Crandall Sunday, June 23. At approximately 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possibly missing person at U.S. Highway 175 and the Trinity River in Crandall.

A former Wills Point ISD teacher was arrested and booked into the Van Zandt County Jail June 20 before being released on the same day. AmandaBlakelyGreen,36,ofKaufman, was charged with two counts of online solicitation of a minor by sexual conduct and possessing child pornography, according to the VZC Sheriff’s Office.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering disaster survivor assistance to Terrell citizens. Crews will be going door-to-door to help Terrell residents apply for assistance according to a joint press release from FEMA and the City of Terrell.
