Rain doesn’t put damper on Jubilee

The strong storms that blew through North and East Texas that brought torrential rain didn’t put a damper on the Terrell Jubilee this past weekend. Families enjoyed carnival day on the first night of the Jubilee as they enjoyed multiple fun rides, delicious fair-style treats, including Fletcher’s corn dogs and funnel cakes, as well as the wonderful lights of the joyous event.

Governor Abbott issues disaster declaration

Governor Greg Abbott issued a disaster declaration April 30 for 29 Texas counties impacted by severe storms and flooding that began last week and continues to affect homes, businesses and the agricultural industry throughout the state. The counties in the Governor’s declaration include: Baylor, Chambers, Dickens, Ellis, Freestone, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Haskell, Hill, Hood, Hunt, Kaufman, Knox, Leon, Liberty, Limestone, Madison, McLennan, Montgomery, Navarro, Polk, San Jacinto, Somervell, Tarrant, Trinity, Tyler, Walker and Wichita counties.

Richards, Carroll speaks to Kiwanis Club
